About Course

 A Certified ScrumMaster® is well equipped to use Scrum, an agile methodology to any project to ensure its success. Scrum's iterative approach and ability to respond to change, makes the Scrum practice best suited for projects with rapidly altering and high emergent requirements, enabling teams to deliver usable software consistently and periodically through a defined project lifecycle.

The role of the ScrumMaster can be seen as crucial and involves overcoming challenges to progress, facilitating the process, and working with the product owner to make sure the product backlog is in good shape and ready for the next sprint. The ScrumMaster ensures that his team lives by the values and practices of Scrum, and doing so ensures their high performance.

This two-day Certified ScrumMaster training is delivered by Scrum Alliance Certified Trainers (CSTs) who will provide you with a deeper understanding of the three overarching areas of change under Scrum: Iterative Development, Self-Management, and Visibility required for greater project success as a ScrumMaster.

Your successful completion of this 2-day CSM course makes you eligible for Scrum Alliance's Online CSM Test.

Process

After completing your CSM course, you will receive an email from Scrum Alliance that includes a link to create your login credentials. You will use those credentials to gain access to the Online CSM Test. Once the test is complete, you will be asked to accept a license agreement. You will then receive the official designation of Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) from Scrum Alliance,along with a two-year membership with Scrum Alliance.

Jim Wang

Jim Wang, CST, is a management consultant working with organizations to improve their software development processes.

Jim has 20 years of experience in the software industry within China as well as abroad. Jim began his career as a Chief Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) engineer at Vicor in the US.

After living in Boston for 11 years, where he was actively practicing Scrum, Jim returned to China and successfully built up the Endeca Offshore Development Center in Shanghai (acquired by Oracle) and the Avid China Development Center in Suzhou.

Both centers were using Scrum. He has mentored over 150 teams through the successful delivery of high-end software products. He has also served as Director of Oracle’s Shanghai BI R&D center, held senior posts at several global software development firms he has a vast understanding of coaching and training executives from different backgrounds and cultures.

Kok Ewe Siew CST

Kok Ewe ('KE') Siew is an Agile Coach & Certified Scrum Trainer.

KE has been involved in many product development projects in the semiconductor industry since 1994. He had a successful career as a product development engineering manager, but in 2009, he decided that he had had enough of the problems repeatedly encountered by product teams as a result of the waterfall approach to product development. KE decided to join in on a mission by a small group of Agile champions to transform the mindset and culture of the semiconductor giant to Agile, one small team at a time. He became a full-time ScrumMaster/Agile Coach, and started coaching and training Scrum teams.

KE is today a recognized pioneer of the Agile community in his home site, Intel Malaysia. Agile adoption is gaining momentum in the corporation, and KE spends most of his time nowadays mentoring product teams and their managers to help them with their Agile transition. KE has conducted many Scrum workshops teaching Agile principles/values and Scrum practices to new teams. He emphasizes on the importance of the 'Agile mindset' as this greatly facilitates the adoption process. Many of the teams he has trained have successfully embraced Agile thinking to achieve great business results.

KE’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (1st Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne, Australia; a Master of Business Administration from the Heriot-Watt University, Scotland; and a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems and Technology from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, under the Singapore-MIT Alliance programme.

Manjit Singh is a remarkably talented, value-driven leader offering 20 years of experience in product management and Enterprise Level Programs and Initiatives in commercial, Federal and non-profit sectors. Manjit has over 12 years’ experience using Agile methodology for software development and full SDLC. He has defined product requirements, functional specifications, and product roadmaps with clear objectives and long-term vision.

During his 20 years of software development experience, he has a track record in increasing performance throughout the product lifecycle by providing technical leadership for strategic planning, business process design and improvements, solution development, technology innovation, software development, system integration, and change management.

Manjit excels in guiding, training and mentoring teams to provide solutions that deliver greatest business value. He is adept in capitalizing on interpersonal and technology skills to create a unique blend of innovative solutions and products while pushing the creative envelope.

Steve Spearman

Steve Spearman

Steve Spearman is a founder and Principal at Swift Ascent, LLC. Steve is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and an Agilementor and coach working at the enterprise and team levels. He has over 30 years of experience in corporate software development as a software developer, architect, project manager, scrum master and in multiple management positions. His enterprise experience spanned leading corporate organizations including Bell Laboratories, Lucent, Avaya, and Cisco Systems.

For the last 4 years, Steve has been providing Agile-focused training and coaching to companies ranging from late-stage start ups to large corporations. He has been a presenter at several conferences, including the 2012 Agile East conference, Mile Hi Agile 2014, Scrum Gathering 2014, and Agile 2014.

His qualifications include a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Computer Science. His other certifications include: SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), PMI-ACP, PMP, Certified Scrum Product Owner, and Certified Scrum Master.
